So many doctors today are prescribing medication to address all manners of mental and emotional afflictions – from depression, to eating disorders, to obsessions and phobias – yet, only a handful are as eager to suggest that their patients enter into some form of counseling.

I am writing from experience. I have been prescribed a variety of pretty pills to help me to deal with chronic depression. Thankfully, I have been among that small percentage who have benefitted from ongoing counseling over the years.

My first encounter with counseling was two years after my son was born. I had been doing my level best to be a good mommy, getting up early every day and getting us out of the house. We would usually head over to our community play group for the morning. Then we would spend the afternoon in the park or go for long walks seeing the sites of downtown Toronto. However, even though I kept active, I found my spirits to be down in the dumps.

Finally, I called a women’s counseling center and embarked on a three year stint with an amazing therapist whom I will always remember fondly. It can be tough to lose weight- especially when concerning the fact that weight loss has been stumping scientists for decades in how to provide a simple cure. Until such a cure can be developed, there are a few general guidelines to follow to keep the weight off and keep appearances stunning.

Many people try multiple times to lose weight, although they almost always end up gaining it back and sometimes even end up worse off than when they started. So to actually lose the weight and keep it off, there are a few tips to keep in mind.

There are other options in weight loss that many have tried as an alternative means of losing weight. Surgery is an example of a drastic alternative, which can sometimes even have adverse effects or unwanted side effects. Some types of pills and special diets have also been successful in reducing unwanted body fat and body mass.

The thing about the average diet is the fact that it is seen as a temporary solution that doesn’t last for a long period of time. This is where most weight loss plans fail, since most diets will be circumvented when dieters revert to old eating habits. I’m the kind of person that is extremely slow to adopt new technology. It took me forever to adopt email as a regular communication method, and I’m just now getting used to the idea of storing all my memos and notes on a PDA rather than in a paper planner. So it comes as no surprise that I’ve held off buying a digital camera until now and that’s only because my film-based model finally gave out for good.

Well, if the truth be told, I’ve actually been thinking about buying a digital camera for a few months now. That’s because I’ve seen the amazing shots that my friends have taken with their cameras, and I want to be able to get the same results. In addition, I’m a bit tired of having to deal with all my film rolls. It’s tough to remember which ones are new, which ones have already been used, and what kind of pictures are on them. I’ve also lost quite a few film rolls while on vacation over the years. I figured I could eliminate these problems by buying a digital camera.  Read more... It was prophesied in the book of Daniel (Dan12:4) that in the last days there would come an explosion of knowledge that would signal the end of the age. According to recent accounts knowledge is doubling every 2 and 1/2 years.

In the recent past many researchers, as a result of this proliferation, have found that many of the stone artifacts such as the Great Pyramid may not have been tombs or monuments that emphasized the egos of the pharaohs

Countless excursions of heavenly visitors call3ed angels have made their way from their celestial abode to earth. this is well documented in both the old and new testament. These high priests of the heavenly temple not only are guardians of the secret places of the most High they direct worship toward His throne.

Is it possible that earthlings have neglected to consider that angels may have had a hand in the construction of the Great Pyramid, and other great monolithic structures around the world? Last Christmas, I did all of my present buying online. I know, I’m horrible. It wasn’t that I didn’t have the time to physically go to the malls, it was simply that I just didn’t always have the energy. It’s so much easier to sit in front of my computer and shop in my pajamas. Plus, buying online for the holidays meant that I could shop any hour of the day. I managed to find quite a few great deals and got some really great presents for people. Sure, it wasn’t as personal as actually fighting the crowds and standing in line for hours just to pick out their gift in person, but it was still a personal gift that I was choosing for them. Do you want to get rid of social anxiety, become more confident and relaxed in social situations? Then you need psychological counseling and medication. This combination is a good social anxiety treatment.

Indeed, your symptoms (physical and emotional) and how you are performing in your day-to-day life decide the social anxiety treatment.

Counseling is enough if you have occasional social anxiety in a specific situation. For instance, public talking or dining with strangers etc.

Most students and their parents worry about getting into college, and worry more about getting into a good college. Many people have their own idea as to what colleges look for in potential students and how college admissions decide on who gets to attend their school. Of course, what type of student you are will influence what worries you most about getting into college.

And, while this is true, college admissions look at many factors before making a decision and about 35 to 50% of that decision is influenced by your high school records.

This often gives a college an indication of how well you perform when given a rigorous workload. College admissions will not only look at your overall grades, but also whether you chose difficult classes, whether your grades improved during high school and even whether you let your senior year grades slide.

Alarm systems are something homeowners and businesses get to protect their property and their possessions. Some homeowners don’t feel the need to have one, but almost any business will have one in some form or another. Video games have progressed a great deal from when they first came out. Who could have imagined the realistic graphics, sound and music? Or, who would have thought of the multiplayer capabilities or the innovative game controllers? Video games were certain to be popular, but who knew that they would blossom into an industry worth billions?

The idea for the first video game conceived as far back as 1947. However, the first commercially released video game was not produced until 1971. It was called “Computer Space” and created by Ted Dabney and Nolan Bushnell. This was followed up by the Magnavox Odyssey in 1972 which was the first game console to be used in the home.

Thirty years later, video games are some of the most profitable entertainment devices ever made. An enormous variety of systems have come out since then and they’re improved continuously in multiplayer capabilities, Internet play, and computing power.  Read more... Successful businesses do not just happen. Naturally there is such a thing as being in the right place at the right time, but in general, there is someone with vision and drive at the wheel. Think about the companies that have stayed in business seemingly forever. What sets them apart from all the others that open their doors, last a few years, and then fade away like a tumbleweed on the Texas panhandle? For a company to succeed, there must be cool-headed individuals at the helm in order to weather the storms of the market and changing financial climates.

The big difference is strategic planning. Managers and executives must have the capacity to focus all aspects of their company on well-defined goals and challenges, be it the direction of research and development or taking advantage of fast moving technological advances.

Making a profit, looking for growth opportunities, and providing direction should always be at the forefront. In today’s uncertain marketplace, the successful executive has to be able to appraise company strengths and weaknesses, fully developing the areas where the company excels and eliminating weaknesses.  Read more...
