Why should you use reading journals with your students?
Journal writing programs are a great way for children to improve their writing while encouraging their learning through readings. It works for any child, regardless of age. All they need to do is write about what they have read and learned.
My teenagers started their reading journals this year. At first, they only wrote about specific events they read about. Over time, they included writings on what characters did and why, and even included writings on lessons learned through the stories. By the end of the year, they used their journal entries to delve deeply into stories, enhancing their understanding.
This year, my twelve-year-old son is starting his reading journal. Each day, he writes an entry on what he learned. We’ve found this helpful with Bible readings and devotionals – a great way to reinforce important lessons!
When my children were younger, they would narrate aloud what they read earlier that day. I would write it down for them. The following day, my kids would copy the narration in their best handwriting. Young children can have journal writing instruction as they enter copy work into their journals.
Training for your CompTIA A+ covers 4 different sectors – you’ll have to qualify in 2 different areas to reach the level of competent in A+. This is why, most colleges only offer two of the training options. Our opinion is this will under prepare you – certainly you’ll have the qualification, but training on all 4 will set you apart in your working life, where you’ll need a more comprehensive understanding. So that’s why you should train in the whole course.
A+ computer training courses are about fault finding and diagnosing – via hands on and remote access, in addition to learning to build, repair and fix and having knowledge of antistatic conditions. In addition, you could look to consider adding the CompTIA Network+ training as you can then also take care of computer networks, and become a more senior IT professional.
One interesting way that training companies make a big mark-up is by adding exam fees upfront to the cost of a course and presenting it as a guarantee for your exams. It looks impressive, until you think it through:
