These winds can be serious, causing expensive damages and relevant dangers. Being aware of weather and watching for warnings in high wind situations is ideal. High winds can easily pick up debris, snap tree branches, cause trees to fall, collapse buildings and structures and more as they blow. All of these things can be harmful and cause damage. Simply any debris lying around can be picked up by wind and become a hazard.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the swine influenza epidemic is growing in the United States and across the globe each day. What?s alarming to people, about this new swine flu strain, is that there are severe illnesses associated with it. The majority of humans are not immune to this new virus, and you may hear news with regards to more cases occurring, as it spreads worldwide.

There are no particular swine influenza symptoms that can distinguish this new strain from other types of influenza. However, some patients experience diarrhea, vomiting, and other gastrointestinal symptoms.

The basic swine flu symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, headache, stuffy nose, chills, fatigue and body aches. These are the same symptoms we get from the common seasonal flu that most people get vaccinated against each year. But, as of this moment, there’s no effective vaccine for swine influenza.

The main cause for swine influenza is the H1N1 virus. But the new strain is a combination of avian flu, human flu, and swine flu. This makes it deadlier than previous swine flu outbreaks, and it’s the reason why many countries around the world are alarmed by the epidemic. Solar pool heaters can greatly reduce your energy costs. They’re more cost-effective than either gas or heat-pump pool heaters. Once a solar pool heater system is installed, you’ll be able to save on annual operating costs.

The typical solar pool heater system consists of a solar collector, a filter, a pump, and a flow-control valve.

- The solar collector is the device which the pool water passes through, to be heated by the sun.

- The filter removes the dirt and debris before the water is pumped into the solar collector.

- The pump is the what circulates the water through the filter and solar collector, and brings it back into the swimming pool.

- And finally, there’s the flow-control valve. It is either an automatic or a manual device, which redirects the water through the solar collector.

- A solar pool heater system works in the following manner.

The water from the pool is pumped through the filter and then enters the solar collector, where it is again heated before it returns to the pool. Many clients are unclear about exactly what standards are required for an Emergency Deluge Safety Shower. This article aims to clarify in laymans terms to assist worksite Safety Managers in determining the right product to meet their needs.

Unsuitable Equipment

There are a number of myths in the marketplace about suitable substitute equipment for plumbed Emergency Safety Showers and Eye / Face Washes. However the following are not acceptable in accordance with the standard:-
- Personal Eyewash equipment, such as squeeze bottles, do not meet the requirements of plumbed or self-contained eyewash equipment.
- Hand held drench hoses do not meet the criteria of a plumbed or self – contained eyewash.
- Self closing shower valves do not meet this standard and should be replaced with stay open valves. If these are the only means of protection, they should be replaced or supplemented with equipment meeting the requirements of AS4775-2007.
