Nausea and pregnancy go hand in hand for many women. It can be mild nausea, or extreme nausea that lasts all day, for months at a time. Here are some natural effective treatments for this nausea.
And if that wasn’t enough already, morning sickness is more than simple early morning nausea… it can last all day. Also, a pregnant women needs to exercise caution regarding the medication she take, because there are so many chemicals that can harm an unborn baby. So, because morning sickness can be debilitating, and medications for pregnant women can have terrible consequences, herbal treatments for nausea are often taken. Here are some things you can do that are proven to reduce morning sickness symptoms:
Step 1: Don’t let your stomach become empty. An empty stomach can be the reason for morning sickness during pregnancy. To keep a stomach with food in it, you need to do 2 things… First, eat many smaller meals rather than eating 3 big meals a day. Second, keep a bland, salty food by the bed such as crackers, and eat a serving whenever you wake up. Do this regardless of what time it is, be it 3:00 in the morning, or 7:00 in the morning. always having a small amount of food in the stomach is an effective way for some women to reduce nausea. It is also extremely safe.
Step 2: Avoid fatty and fried foods. These can cause stomach pain and problems, and arn’t good for the body anyway.
Step 3: It is important to drink lots of fluids, particularly water. Stay away from carbonated sugary drinks like soda, and avoid caffeine.
Step 4: If the nausea or vomiting start to occur, a peppermint oil home made inhaler can suppress it. Simply drop 1 – 3 drops of the essential oil peppermint on a napkin, hold the napkin near the mouth and nose and breath in. Peppermint essential oil can sooth and reduce the nausea feelings. This remedy is extremely effective, and was written up in “The Journal of Advanced Nursing” back in September, 1997.
Step 5: Take a vitamin B6 Supplement. This been common knowledge for a while, but only recently has been used to stop morning sickness. In the 1940′s, several studies were made on over 300 women, and the conclusions were the same: taking 25 mg – Taking 60mg of vitamin B6 has been studied and proven to help some women prevent morning sickness. Ideally, you should take it 3 times per day, in a 10 mg dosage per time – 20 mg capsules at a time. Once first thing in the morning before getting out of bed, once mid day, and once in the evening. Never take more than 100 mg a day, because nerve problems are possible with more than 100 mg a day.
Although not all approaches or techniques will work for all women, each one of these steps has been studied and proven to be effective for some. Always consult a doctor before doing anything while pregnant, since pregnancy is a very sensitive medical condition, and there are many ways to accidentally affect your babies growth and development. Even though these treatments are organic or natural, they still require the supervision of a doctor or other medical professional.
